From July 31 to August 9, 2026, thanks to the support of Crossing the Sea and the Italian Cultural Institute of São Paulo, choreographer Francesca Santamaria and her collaborator Pietro Angelini were guests in Brazil at the Festival Dança Em Trânsito.
I had the opportunity to bring my work GOOD VIBES ONLY (beta test) to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with three performances: the first at Centro Cultural FIESP/SESI in São Paulo on August 1, the second at Teatro Nelson Rodrigues in Rio de Janeiro on August 5, and the last at the BiblioMaison of the French Embassy, also in Rio, on August 8.
We had the chance to experiment with the work in three different spaces and cultural contexts.
We watched many pieces, took part in international meetings, and throughout the entire festival we had the opportunity to share our journey with artists and professionals from all over the world, thus expanding our network and enriching our professional background.
Beyond the stage, we shared dances with Brazilian colleagues, who introduced us to the legendary Samba and to memorable Brazilian dance-filled nights. During our free time, we immersed ourselves in the life of these two incredible cities, from which we returned home with the hope of coming back one day.
We thank the entire production staff of the Festival Dança em Trânsito, Crossing the Sea, and the Italian Cultural Institute for making this experience possible—one that we will carry in our hearts.
