Alessandro Baro (Ancona, 1993) – musician, singer-songwriter, composer
He began his musical career at the age of eleven, studying acoustic and electric guitar, ranging across various genres such as folk, funk, jazz, and a deep understanding of blues. At 18, he moved to Dublin and began working as a street performer. He returned to Italy (Bologna) in 2015, where he composed three English-language albums.
His artistic growth was marked by his encounter with the master of ‘Dhol’ percussionist Pappu Sain in Pakistan in 2017.
In 2021, he partially lost the use of his left hand due to a radial nerve injury. During his progressive recovery, he deepened his vocal research and the use of live electronics (delay, reverb, distortion, loop stations, natural sound samples).
He deepened his connection with dance by leading various workshops, including contact improvisation, body and movement research workshops and performance.
In 2024, together with dancer and choreographer Elisa Spina, he created the show “Le ali non si sottraggono,” in which he participated as a performer and musician.
He leads music workshops for children.
In 2025, he debuted with “Prima Del Tempo,” a concert rooted in the acoustic guitar, featuring open tuning, finger picking, and laptapping. An exploration of the acoustic world and live electronics, his sincere and visceral lyrics explore the relationship between humanity and nature, drawing on personal stories and everyday details.
His new album/concert, “Per la magia,” is currently in production, where his research continues to be rooted in folk and traditional music, integrating instruments such as the didgeridoo, Weissenborn guitar, and stompbox.
