Camilla Montesi is an Italian dancer and author, born in 1993.
In 2012 she graduated from the Associazione Balletto Classico Cosi Stefanescu in Reggio Emilia and continued her training through the Agora Coaching Project, directed by Michele Merola, which brought her closer to contemporary dance and introduced her to the professional field.
For several years she worked as a performer, collaborating with numerous artists and institutions (Compagnia Zappalà Danza, Gärtnerplatz Theater, Korzo Theater, Diego Tortelli, Alessio Maria Romano, Abbondanza Bertoni, Samir Calixto…).
Alongside her work as a performer, she developed an authorial practice driven by the desire to investigate her artistic identity. Her research unfolds through a constantly evolving language that explores the body’s natural flexibility, dynamism, and expressive potential.
In 2022 she premiered her solo Caronte at Santarcangelo Festival and was selected for Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore 2023. The work was later presented at several Italian festivals ( MilanOltre, Festival DanzaEstate, TIQ Teatro in Quota, Pirelli HangarBicocca, Ammutinamenti Festival…).
In the same year, she founded ETRE, an interdisciplinary collective that promotes artistic activities by inhabiting spaces not traditionally devoted to performance. Conceived as an incubator, brings together artists of different backgrounds and sensibilities, leading to the creation of the productions Sei proposte per il prossimo millennio and Sintropia.
Within this authorial phase, she continues her research by leading movement workshops for professional dancers and artistic awareness projects open to all. In 2024, she presented her workshops at TIQ Teatro in Quota, Mandala Dance Company, Scenario Pubblico, and various Italian dance schools.
She also collaborates with visual artists on interdisciplinary projects, including Ci nascondiamo per farci nascondere and Se potessi chiudere gli occhi, finalist for the La Danza in 1 Minuto Award 2025.
Since 2022, she has been an associate artist of Scenario Pubblico / Compagnia Zappalà Danza.
