Cherstich and Di Girolamo are a director–actor and a visual artist who, over the years, have developed a continuous dialogue between our respective fields of research. From this exchange, the project NÓSTOS was born in 2024. During previous work sessions, they experimented with the actor’s body and its relationship with sculptures and installations, conceived both as theatrical “chambers” and as extensions of the body itself.
Davide Cherstich (1994) is a theatre actor and director. He holds a degree in Modern Literature and trained at the International Academy of Theatre in Rome. His Lecoq-based training intersected with diverse experiences, ranging from the Russian methods of Anatoly Vasiliev and Yuri Alschitz to performance work with Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio under Romeo Castellucci. He collaborates regularly with Teatro dei Borgia (Gianpiero Borgia and Elena Cotugno). He is co-founder of the Accademia Teatro della Fortuna and also works in the writing and adaptation of theatrical texts.
Daniele Di Girolamo (1995) trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and at the Malmö Art Academy. His multidisciplinary research includes kinetic and sound sculptures, installations, and live sound performances, and develops from physical phenomena and natural processes related to perception, memory, and relationships. He has taken part in numerous national and international exhibitions.
