Corps Citoyen is a multidisciplinary artistic collective based between Tunis and Milan, founded by Anna Serlenga and Rabii Brahim. The collective’s artistic practice crosses performance, theatre, social and anthropological research, video-documentary, animation and writing to create new narratives of the present and investigate the complexity of the contemporary.
Through the re-signification of public space acted out by the performative and the active participation of civil society in artistic processes, Corps Citoyen works with communities for territorial development and social justice, promoting decolonised languages and narratives to counter the racialisation, discrimination and marginalization of people and territories.
In his latest works 2021 – 2023 (The Others لخرین ; The Political Body Workshop; The Others 2_остали; Barrani – provisional title) he also investigates the scenic device according to the Foucauldian meaning of the term, i.e. as a functional tool for the creation and control of conformist narratives and identities and, at the same time, as a space of creative resistance and a place for a battle of biopolitical liberation of bodies.
